Joss Whedon puts down ‘Feminist’ (in a good way)

“If you’re someone who genuinely believes that women don’t deserve or aren’t as much as men, you’re like the Plague.”

“I’m not a sexist but I’m not a feminist, they think there’s this fuzzy middle ground. There is no fuzzy middle ground. You either believe that women are people or you don’t. It’s that simple.”

-Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon brings up a lot of issues with terminology including feminist, sexist, and misogyny. He goes on to make up a few clever words himself–

#patheticprehistoricragefilledinbredassclown

and

#genderist- Definition: acknowledging there was a shameful past before we realized all people are equal. The gender equivalent of racist.

Since all of this has been talked about almost verbatim from lowly women and ‘feminists’, it’s immediately excused away. Maybe coming from Joss Whedon, a white male and director/writer/nerd/geek hero of many, it will resonate more with said #patheticprehistoricragefilledinbredassclowns.
